The Estates General was the assembly of French Estates, who are clergy(first estates), the nobles(second estates) and the commoners(third estates). And this is the meeting of those people. -

The National Assembly - Tennis Court Oath
This revolutionary assembly formed by the representatives of the Third Estates (the commoners) of the Estates General. It voted to establish the National Assembly. This assembly lasted until July 9th, 1789. And also, it led to the Tennis Court Oath.
- National Assembly's responses: abolish taxes on peasants / move to end of feudalism / Constitution: citizens instead of subjects / Declaration of the rights of Man & Citizens etc. -
Storming of the Bastille
This occured in the east part of Paris, France. The state prison, Bastille had been stormed by Third estates(commoners). The group of salesmen and craftsmen decided to fight back and they went to Invalides to steal weapons. They stole riffles but there were no powders found. Therfore, they got to know the powders were in Bastille, so they decided to attack there. -
End of Feudalism
The feudalism is ended and divisions between estates ended. So after this, the estates(first estates, second estates, third estates) are gone. -
Declaration of the Rights of Man and of the Citizen
In August 27th, 1789, the Declaration of the Righst of Man and of the Citizen had been passed by the National Assembly in France. This document says that, "Men are born and remain free and equal in rights. Social distinctions can be founded only on the common utility." It is the significant declaration in this French Revolution and civil rights. -
The Bread Riots
This riot erupted mostly by the women because of they didn't have much money to pay for their foods and to live their lives. The prices of those breads were way much over expensive. Therefore, women invaded the stores and bakeries. -
Assembly reforms France
The year of 1790, the National Assembly reforms France. -
Royal family attempts to flee
The royal family attempted to escape(flee) away from the France and go to Austria. But they caught right back at Varennes and returned to France again. Their attempted flight proved that their treasonable dealings with foreigners. -
New Constitution
King Louis XVI announced the new constitution in front of the National Assembly and form that, it's limited monarchy. So, the legislative assembly created. The legislative assembly is legislature of France, it provided the political debate and revolutionary law. -
Legislative Assembly declares war on Austria & Prussia
The legislative assembly declared war on Austria and Prussia. However, France was poor at the first time but their armies showed some progress and became successful gradually. -
Abolishment of the monarchy
The legislative assembly voted to aboish the monarchy in France and finally built the First Republic.
