    Estate General Called by Louis XVI
    Estates General is a collection of people from the 3 estates. It hadn't been called since 1614 which was 175 years. This is huge because it is the first action to the Aristocratic Revolution and French Revolution.
  • Estates Declare National Assembly

    Estates Declare National Assembly
    National assembly is when the Estate General would draft a constitution. They usually would meet at Versailles but King Louis XVI locked them out so they meet at nearby tennis courts and swear and oath that they wouldn't leave until a constitution was drafted
  • Bastille Day

    Bastille Day
    An event in were 900 people stormed an armory/prison. The people that stormed it hoped to get weapons to fight the king but ends up not working out. Although they did free prisoners and cut off the wardens head which became the symbol of the Revolution.

    It was a Rebellion that broke out all around France to help the National Assembly. Although it mostly involved peasants who wanted more political power so they killed and destoryed their lords homes to get rid of feudal obligations. It ends up working because the National Assembly got rid of Feudal Obligations and fees to the lord.

    Declaration of Rights of Man Created
    This was created based off of the English Bill of Right and the Declaration of Independence. It stated that all men were created equal, had freedom of press and speech, and everyone had to pay the same taxes. These idea were consider Enlightenment ideas. It being created allowed for less tension and it also raised money for all the debt that they were in.

    On this day people went to the market to buy their bread but didnt find any. They believe King Louis took the bread to punish them for the revolution. They began to march to Versailles were King Louis was because they thought he had all the bread. There were 6,000 to 7,000 women that demanded the bread. This terrified the King so instead of give them bread he accepted the decrees. He thought this would calm them down

    By the second day women had found a way into the castle. They beat up servants and killed some gaurds. The entire crowded wanted to kill King Louis but they didn't due to a man named Marquis de Lafayette. He convice the crowded to take him to Paris where he would be held prisoner.

    This constitution was the first of many French constitution. This constitution showed which estate group had more political power. Although there was still a King, the Legislative Assembly created the laws. The King was on strict rules and if he tried turning on the Legislative Assembly he would be put on trial and if convicted be killed.

    The mob was a very violent group at this time during the French Revolution. During this event they took the King cative and demanded a National Convention, bread, and a new constitution. The San-Culotte pushed the French Revolution and is believed to help it prosper it.

    A spree of killing in Paris due to food and chaoes . Thousands of people died. Jean-Pail Marat, a radical journalist, supported the Massacre.

    Committee of Pubic Safety was a respons to the San-Culotte being violent and so many other countries formed allices to prevent it from happening in their countriy. A new important figure, Maximilien Robespierre, who was agaist the Committee of Public Safety.

    King Louis XVI was killed by a new device called the guillitine. This device was quick, efficient, and showed that anyone could be killed, even royalty.

    The Reign of Terror was led by Jacobins.The Jacobins were lead by a man named Robespierre, who had supoort from the Sans Culotte. Their goal was to crush the oppoisition, and to make everyone support the revolution.
