  • Setting the Stage

    France was the most advanced county in all of Europe
  • Economic Trouble

    France economy's was not good at all and in trouble. The prices raised and people suffered starvation. The French help the Americans making it worse for their situation. Marie Antoinette spend money in jewelry, party's and gambling.
  • The Great Fear

    There were rumors that the nobles were hiring outlaws to scare the peasants. This made the peasants to break into the nobles houses and destroy the old legal papers that bound them to pay feudal dues.
  • High Price of Bread

    People rioted about the price of the bread. They broke into the palace and demanded to Louis and Marie to go to Paris and they did.
  • Meeting in Versailles

    The second estate forced King Louis to call a meeting with the estates generals to discuss the new tax rule.
  • National Assembly

    People voted to change the government from absolute monarchy to representative government.
  • Tennis Court

    The third estate members were locked out of the meeting so they broke down a door and they pledge to stay until they had a new constitution.
  • Storming the Bastille

    The people began to gather weapons to defend themselves and the city. A mob took control of a Paris prison and killed many guards and took the prison commander. They walked through the city with their heads in pikes.
  • France at war

    Prussian forces were advancing and threatened to destroy Paris if anything were to happen to the royal family. In 1793 France was against Britain, Holland, Spain, Prussia, and Australia.
  • Revolution Comes To An End

    The revolution ended in 1794 and later on leaders had a new plan of government which placed power firmly in the hands of the upper middle class.
