Declaration of the Rights of Man and Citizens
A charter of human liberty, contained the basis for the French Revolution. 17 articles, which served as a preamble to the French Constitution of 1791. Formed from Enlightenment ideas. "Men are born and remain free and equal in rights". -
Tennis Court Oath
Members of the French Estates-General for the third estate, who now called themselves the National Assembly met at tennis courts (only place they could find to fit) and took an oath not to separate. -
Storming of the Bastille
State prison on the east side of Paris called Bastille was attacked by an angry mob. The prison was a symbol of the monarchy, and this became a defining moment for the French Revolution. -
Women's March on Versailles
A large group of women (and some men) marched to Versailles demanding bread for their families in the pouring rain. They took Louis and Marie Antoinette back to Paris with them, the last time either of them would be at Versailles. -

Launched by Napoleon in order to keep Czar Nicholas I from trading with British merchants. So that he could cripple Britain. -
Napoleon Bonaparte's exile to Elba
Allies invaded France, captured Paris, and forced Napoleon to give up his throne and he was exiled to Elba. He later escaped and took control of France again. -
Napoleon Bonaparte's exile to St. Helena
When Napoleon returned to France his plans were to come back to the throne of France after leading their army, but after his defeat in the Battle of Waterloo he was exiled to St. Helena, a tiny island. -
Battle of Waterloo
Napoleon's final defeat. After he escaped his exile to Elba He marched to Paris, and intended to take the throne from Louis XVIII. Many European powers banded together to keep him from assuming the throne, so they declared war and fought together as the Seventh Coalition. After he was defeated he was exiled to St. Helena where he lated died.
