Constituent Assembly
The King sides with the First and Second States, deciding to continue with the medieval ways of government. On 9th July 1789 the National Assembly, which is the Third State, declares itself Constituent Assembly. This means they pass laws and reforms in the name of the French people. This event is important to the French Revolution because it is the very beginning and start of the revolution.
