Maximilien Robespierre became the leader of the Committee of Public Safety. He governed Francec as a dictator and the time period was known as the Reign of Terror. -
End of Reign of Terror
Members of the National convention turrned on Robespierre. He was arrested and firced into execution. The Reign of Terror ended when Robespierre was executed on teh guillotine.
