    Tennis Court Oath
    The Third Estate Delegates were locked out of their meeting room in Versailles so they moved to an indoor tennis court to have a meeting. There they promised themselves to never separate until a written constitution for France was established. The nobles and clergyman liked the reforms and joined the Third Estate delegates and their ideas.
  • Storming of the Bastille

    Storming of the Bastille
    Angry people attacked the Bastille which was a state prison in Paris. This helped them attain weapons and gunpowder that were found inside the prison and made a statement agains the Monarchy.
  • Declaration of the Rights of Man

    Declaration of the Rights of Man
    The National Assembly released a declaration which guaranteed citizens equal justice, freedom of religion, and speech. This declaration was named "The Declaration of the Rights of Man".
  • Meeting of the estates General

    Meeting of the estates General
    The Meeting of the Estates General was a meeting with the representatives of each Social Class. Since King Louis XVI had no money left the Second Estate obligated him to hold a meeting to see what they could do about it. This meeting was held in Versailles.

    King Louis was told that his family and himself were in danger so he and his family attempted to flee from France to Netherlands. But they were caught and were sent back to Paris where the King has to face trail.

    People of Paris were furious and angry since a Prussian commander treated to destroy Paris if someone harmed anyone in the Royal Family. Woman and Men invaded the Tuileries where they massacred the Royal Guards and kept King Louis. They also held Mary Antoinette and their children captive. They insisted the French to reinstate a Monarchy and the legislative assembly declared war on them.

    Reign of Terror
    Maximilien Robespierre slowly started to gain power and became the Committee of Public Society. He started governing France as a dictator, and this period was named The Reign of Terror. Thousands of people were killed by execution because of a conflict between the Jacobins, and the Girondins.

    After being put on trail, King Louis got executed in the guillotine.
  • Execution of Robespierre

    Execution of Robespierre
    The member of the National Convention turned on Robespierre. He then gets executed on the guillotine which ended the Reign of Terror in July 28, 1794. The French public opinion shifted dramatically and they gained more power.
