  • How the Government was Established

    In that time, the Old Regime was still being used. Under this system, people of France had to be divided into three social classes (estates)
  • King Louis XVI Loses Power

    After a very risky situation with econimics, the power of King Louis began to doubt a lot of people. So, people began to call him weak and the queen gave the queen more problems as disturbing him and spending so much money on gowns, jewels, gambling and gifts
  • Rebellion

    There was a lot of rebellion spread from Paris into the countryside. From one village to the next, wild rumors were spread about the nobles wanting to terrorize the peasents
  • Rise of the Bread

    A lot of woman showed anger against the national assembly regarding the rise of the price of the bread. The woman broke into the palace and killed some of the guards. Then, they demanded that Louis and Antoniette returned to paris. After some time, Louis agreed to lower the price
  • Establish National Assembly

    After a long time of gaining anger that could start a revolution, there was a vote that led to establishing the national assembly, in effect proclaiming the end of absolute monarchy and the beginning of the representative government.
  • Reformation of France

    After the assembly, tense began to rise and power against the government rises. Saying, there were declaring their love of liberty and equality. They were motivated by idealism and joined members of the national assembly on getting rid of the first and second estates.
  • Losing Power

    After two long years of arguing about the constitution of France, the delegates made new changes for the society. First, there was a new system of monarchy called a limited monarchy (the power of the monarch splits between government and king)
  • Escaping

    After becoming a threat on France, King Louis and her wife tried to escape France. As they attempted, someone in the crowd had recognized the king from a portrait on a French bank note and stopped them. So, they returned to Paris under guard.
  • Beginning of the War

    By the summer of 1792, enough tension was built to start a war on France. Prussian forces were advancing on Paris, they were to harm the royal family as were threatened to destroy Paris if any revolutionaries harmed any member of the royals.
  • End of Terror

    Some members of the National Convention wanted to execute Robeispierre for their own safety. Dramarically, the french publics opinion shifted after Robespierre's death. This meant that a lot of people rised of another terror of them being executed. After all, they were not
