    The king was the first victim of the Reign of Terror.His wife Marie Antoinette was executed October 16th.Reign of terror was started by Maximilien Robespierre.Everyone in France during that time was going against each other because they didn't want to be put to execution.

    The government voted on it,for their new constitution.
  • Louis the XIV Calls the Estates General

    Louis the XIV Calls the Estates General
    The peasants were having a really hard time living form their work and most of the were living below the subsistence level.The bread and flour prices began to rise and became expensive. On May 5,1789 the Estates General was opened by the king.The 3rd estate wants a fair vote by head because the taxes were unfair.

    They stormed the Bastille because there was a stash of gunpowder.The storming of the Bastille has come to represent the Revolt against the French Monarchy.

    Declaration was a constitution written in the tennis court,saying "Men are born free and remain free and equal in rights"
  • Napoleon Overthrows the Directory

    Napoleon was a French Military and Political leader.He was part of a group that overthrew it.The French Directory was failing.The directory was replaced with a three member consulate.

    Napoleon had made a very large French empire.Brought the Netherlands and Belgium and parts of Italy and Germany into France

    His army marched into Moscow.Retreated because the citizens of Moscow burned 3 months of the city.And that made the army not having any food and supplies.
