  • Estates General Meeting

    To try and solve France's financial crisis, king Louis brought representatives from all of the estates together. Each estate would have 1/3rd of the power.
  • Storming of the Bastille

    French peasants stormed the Bastille to gain gunpowder and ammunition to fight the upper classes. After a brief battle, the prison was overwhelmed and torn down.
  • National Assembly Formed

    The 3rd estate's representitives, led by Robespierre, were locked out of the Estates General meeting. In response, they formed the National Assembly.
  • Tennis Court Oath

    After being locked out, the 3rd estate moved to a tennis court and resolved to remain there until a new constitution promising equality for all men was signed.
  • Declaration of Rights of Man Written

    "Rights of Man" was a document giving all people certain rights. It was very important in the French Revolution
