Calling of the Estates General
Due to unhappy people, the King called together the Estates General to discuss important matters for the first time in years. -
Gathering of the National Assembly
The 3rd Estate was angry because their needs were ignored and brushed aside. They decided to gather and create the National Aseembly in order to get the King's attention. -
Tennis Court Oath
The National Aseembly refused to stop meeting at a Tennis Court until a new Constituion of France is created, because their original meeting place was locked down because of the King. -
Storming the Bastille
The King feared for a rebellion. He started bringing in new troops from various places, thus, angering the civilians. Hundreds of people raided the Bastile prison to take large suppiles of weapons to defend themselves from the King's new troops. -
the Great Fear
Reportedly, people began attacking nobles and other upper class citizens in the streets. It caused a bout of panic among the 1st and 2nd estate, until militias managed to get a hold of the situation. -
Declaration of the Rights of Man
A document very similar to the Americans Declaration of Independence. It listed the equality of all men, and the natural right to liberty, property, security, and resistance to opposition. -
March of Versailles
Rumors spread that King Louis and Marie Antionette were hoarding grains and other goods from the people. Women, outraged by this, marched to the Palace with various weapons to demand bread. It was surpisingly succesful. -
New Constitution
A new Constitution of France was drafted and approved. The people rejoiced. -
Flee of the Royal Family
Marie Antoinette and King Louis desguised themselves as servants to try and flee from Paris. However, somewhere along the trip, they were discovered, and brought back to Paris. -
Reign of Terror
People accused of being traitors to the revolution of guillotined without a trial or any question at all.
