    Louis XVI

    Louis was forced upon the Kingship at an early age because of his fathers death. He was a more solitary person than a spoken king. He didn't get involved in the government much and the people did not like that. He was later guillotined for lack of effort dedicated to the country.

    The British wanted to settle in the Ohio River Valley and to trade with the Native Americans who lived there. The French built forts to protect their trade with the Indians. The British along with the Indians won the war.

    Marie Antoinette

    Marie Antoinette was the queen spouse to King Louis XVI. She along with Louis didn't help with the state of the government and her and his actions caused the revolution. She's popularized for saying the quote "let them eat cake."

    Graduating from law in 1781, Maximillian was a French lawyer. He was a influential leader during the 'reign of terror'. His ideas he offered were overthrown tho, and he was beheaded in 1794.

    Napoleon Bonaparte

    In his early life, Napoleon went to a military academy in France and eventually became an officer. After people revolted in the revolution, Napoleon was admitted commander as part of the Radicals, but his ruling later failed and was sentenced to an Island where he stayed until death
  • Tennis Court Oath

    Taking place on a tennis court. The oath was a vow to not disband until a correct constitution has been made.
  • Storming of the Bastille

    A prison, primary used as an armory was stormed by an angry mob to get weapons to start the revolution. The Bastille was captured and the rebellion began
  • Declaration of Rights of Man and of Citizen.

    17 articles. Adopted between August 20 and August 26, 1789. It served as the preamble to the Constitution of 1791. Similar documents served as the preamble to the Constitution.
  • Women's March on Versailles

    On October 4, 1789 a group of women demanding food for their families stormed into the Versailles. They women, as a group push passed the guards and got King Louis XVI and brought him back to the central city. Marie barely escaped through secret passage, but went to the city along with Louis.

    Reign of Terror

    After death of the king, the "Terror" officially began. The Terror was designed to fight the enemies of the revolution, to prevent counter-revolution from gaining ground. Upwards of 40000 people died, with it officially ending when a different view point came into mind. People didn't want harmless people dying for nothing.
  • Battle of Trafalgar

    In five hours of fighting, the British devastated the enemy fleet, destroying 19 enemy ships. No British ships were lost, but 1,500 British seamen were killed or wounded in the heavy fighting.
  • Battle of Austerlitz

    also known as the Battle of the Three Emperors was one of the most important battles in European History. It was also Napoleon's greatest victory. It marked the end of the Third Coalition of France.

    Invasion of Russia

    The French invasion of Russia, known in Russia as the Patriotic War of 1812 and in France as the Russian Campaign, began on 24 June 1812 when Napoleon's Grande Armée crossed the Neman River in an attempt to engage and defeat the Russian army.

    After coming back from previous exile, Napoleon wanted to prove he was a great leader and he wanted to fight against the British one more time. He did this and lost barely and then was premaritally exiled to St. Helena.
  • Napoleon Bonaparte's exile to Elba

    The way Napoleon was doing things were not appreciated, so he was exiled to the island of Elba near Rome and the monarchs were restored to power. However, Napoleon escaped from Elba in February 1815 and took control of France once again
  • Waterloo

    In this battle, the forces of the French Empire under the leadership of Napoleon Bonaparte were defeated by the Seventh Coalition and a Prussian Army.
