The Estate Generals met and discuss important ideas and discuss important things. Third class reakizes how unfair it is because first and second always win. They ask for a headcount rather than current voting system. King Louis XVI turns it down. -
Tennis Court Oath
After being turned down for getting majority vote, third estate makes the National Assembly. They try to meet but the King forbids the place they want to so they go to an indoor tennis court. The all swear to not leave the Tennis Court until there is a new constitution in France. -
Attack on Bastille
A state prison was attacked by angry mob. Them attacking resulted as a statement against the monarchy. They also got weapons and gunpowder that were kept in the prison. -
Declaration of the Rights of Man
This is a human civil rights document made by the National Assembly. The declaration was created by Abbe Sieyes and Marquis de Lafayette. The declaration set collective and individual rights of all men. -
March on Versailles
A crowd of poor women in need of food for their families march soaking wet from rain to Versailles. The women's march brought an end to monarchy at Versailles. Their march was a great start to the reolution because it started to give people power over the king. -
Civil Constitution of the Clergy
The National Assembly passed a law that made the Catholic Church have less power than the French government. This was made to hopefully regulate the Catholic Church. It also requires all clergy and bishops to swear loyalty to the state under oath. -
Royal family attempts fleeing
King Louis XVI and Marie Anoinette take their children and tried to leave Paris in order to have a counter- revolution. They knew they would be stripped of power if they didn't leave. The palace was under control of the new republican government. -
Execution of King Louis XVI
King Louis was captured by the National Assembly and the 3rd class after being accused of treason. They found him guilty of treason and gave him a death sentence by a high majority vote. They exectuted him by guillotine. -

Many people are sentenced to death by guillotine, including Marie Antoinette. The reason for execution of the people were because they were against the revolution. Both Jocobins and Girodins were against the revolution and wanted it to end. -
Robespierre's Execution
Robespierre was the leader of the executions in France. Robespierre killed anyone who was against the revolution. After killing over 17,000 people by guillotine, Robespierre and 21 other followers were sentenced to death by guillotine.
