After scuffles, they are fobbed off by the King. 5th October 1789: Oct 6, 1789 King returns to Paris. 6th October 1789: Aug 18, 1790 First counter-revolutionary assembly at Jalès. May 15, 1791 Black citizens of French colonies granted equal rights. 15th May 1791: Sep 13, 1791 King formally accepts Constitution. Aug 19, 1792 Lafayette flees to Austria.
