French Revolution Started
Bastille was used as a state-prison and King Louis XVI had used it for people who angered or disagreed with the king. On that day, Mobs stormed the Batille fortress causeing the French Revolution to began, It was because people were unhappy with the government and the king himself. -
The Change of Government
On that year, they changed from a Monarchy to a Republic. That same year, the French Revolutionary Wars. The French won victoriously afterwards conquering the Italian Peninsula and the low countries. -
King of France Dies
After a year of making France a Republic, King Louis XVI was executed using a guillotine. A guillotine is a long rectangle frame with a slanted blade at the top. At the bottom sits a cut out fit for a human's head, then the blade drops and decapitates a person. -
Reign of Terror
The Reign of Terror was named for the large amounts of executions used with the guillotine. Anyone who disagreed with the revolution were to be executed. 16,594 people were executed by the device. -
The French Revolution Ends
After the king giving up and the change of government, Napoleon Bonoparte took over and made France a dictatorship.
