    <a href='' >History notes</a>The National Assembly started with the making of the constitution. The three classes got locked out of their regular meeting room by the King. They then went to a nearby tennis court.

    <a href='' >History notes</a>They also made the "Tennis Court Oath." The oath was that the third estate would keep meeting until the D.R.M. was completed. This promise was kept.

The city of Paris was now in the hands of the revolutionaries. The storming of the Bastille is the official start of the French Revolution.

The National assmbly kept forcing Louis 16 to sign law after law that took more and more power away from the King. One night the King and is family got in their royal carriage using the cover of the darkness to Austria. They were at the boarder and spotted and sent back to Paris.

So he accepted the new constitution.

    Paris Mob attacks the Tuileries
    <a href='' >History notes</a>A mob of nearly 30,000 French citizans stromed toward the Tuileries Palace to capture King Louis 16. The guards of the palace were killed as they were unable to take on the crowd. They fled into the Palace where they killed anyone in their way.

    <a href='' >History notes</a>This was an assembly that governed France from September 20, 1792 to October 26, 1795, during the most critical period of the French Revolution. The National Convention was elected to provide a new constituion for the country after the overthrow of the monarchy.

He was walked steadfastly to the guillotine and was executed after being condemed to death by a narrow majority.

    Marie Antoinette's Trial

She was accused most notably of treason. She defended herself bravely and calmly. But the judgement was never in doubt, as the revolutionaries had always doubted her. After two days she was convicted and executed.

After her trial where she was founded guilty she returned to her cell and asked for pen and paper and wrote her finale letter to her sister. In the morning she was found in tears/ she was changed into a white dress and bonnet. They bounded her hands and cut her hair and was led out of the prison. She was taken away in a cart and was executed.

    <a href='' >History notes</a>Robespierre stood in front of the committee awith a list in his hand of the people to be executed. They feared for their own safety and had prepared in advance the condemned Robespierre. He was executed and thus ended the reign of terror.
