The French and Indian War
France and Great Britain were fighting in North America to control the Ohio River Valley. The war lasted 9 years and was incredibly expensive. Great Britain started to tax the colonists heavily to pay off the debt. This led to the first major disagreement between the colonists and the crown. -

The Stamp Act
The Stamp Act took place on March 22, 1765, and lasted until March 18, 1766. This Act took place because of the Seven Years' War which left the British Empire in debt. To pay those debts, they taxed colonists which was represented by a stamp on any documents, etc. The British Government taxed them without the approval of any colonial legislatures. This led to the act being abolished due to Colonial resistance to the act and pressure from sellers. The Parliament now has power over the colonies. -

Quartering Act
The Quartering Act was a requirement for those of colonial authority to provide food, hospitality, quarters, fuel, and more to the British soldiers if they were stationed near them. This was because of the high costs since the Stamp Act, and it resulted in the Third Amendment as well and led to multiple other acts after this. -

Boston Massacre
The Boston Massacre took place on the 5th of March, 1770. Originally, it was a mere argument between the British soldiers and the Patriots. However, things quickly escalated due to a shot that was fired. Both sides of the story clearly state different perspectives and say a different who and he fired the shot. After this bloody mess, we still do not know of the person who fired the shot. -

Boston Tea Party & Intolerable Acts
The Boston Tea Party occurred on the 16th of December, 1773. The British had taxed tea, which the American Patriots had despised. This led to the Patriots disguising themselves as Mohawk Indians throwing 342 chests of tea into Boston Harbor. After the protests from the American Patriots, they passed the Tea Act and aided East India. Four laws were
then passed as well for punishment to the colony of Massachusetts Bay because of the Boston Tea Party. -

Battle of Lexington and Concord
The Battle of Lexington and Concord took place on the 19th of April, 1775. The British were disobeyed by the colony of Massachusetts which led to this battle occurring. The Americans left victorious and earned their independence. -

Battle of Bunker HIll
The Battle of Bunker Hill occurred on the 17th of June, 1775. The feud between the American Patriots and the British had begun as they each prepared for war. The British left victorious and American Patriots fought hard, and had many casualties. -

Declaration of Independence
On the 4th of July, 1776, the Continental Congress signed off Britain not being able to control the North American colonies. The Battle of Lexington and Concord had a strong impact devoted to this decision. After some allegations, the document was affixed later that year on the 2nd of August, 1776. -

Battles of Trenton and Princeton
The Battles of Trenton and Princeton took place on the 26th of December, 1776. The Americans led victorious to both battles as they were a week apart and were confident. -

Treaty of Paris
The Treaty of Paris took place on the 3rd of September, 1783. The Treaty of Paris was a result of the Battle of Yorkton. The British considered it after a loss to the U.S. This event then ended the Seven Years' War.
