Goerge Washington´s first mission
George Washington was sent from the colony of Virginia to tell French settlers to leave the Virginian land between Canada and Louisiana after the French forced the British traders out of the Ohio River Valley. The French commander told Washington that he would not leave, so Washington rode back to Virginia.

Braddock´s defeat
The British started building a fort to defend their land, but the French captured it, finished it, and named it Fort Duquesne. George Washington tried to take it back but failed. After that, General Edward Braddock and 1500 men marched toward Duquesne to take it back, but 900 men including Braddock died and they failed.

Battle at Fort Oswego
In 1756, the French captured the British fort Fort Oswego, which was near the Great Lakes.

Battle at Fort William Henry
The French commander Montcalm captured the British fort William Henry, and the massacre at Fort William Henry occured. The French then had captured most of the major British forts.

The British take Quebec
The British sent General James Wolfe to capture Quebec, the capital of New France. The British scouts found a way up the rocky cliff on which the city was perched. The next night, they snuck up the cliff and in the morning fought a 30 minute battle. Quebec was surrendered the next day.

Treaty of Paris
A year after the Battle of Quebec, Montreal fell to the British as well. The countries kept fighting for the next 3 years, with Spain allied with the French, until Britain finally won in 1763. The war was finally over, with Britain owning the land East of the Mississippi, Spain owning the land west of the Mississippi, and France not having any land in America anymore.
