French people wanted the Ohio river and the British wanted to maintain it so they fought over it. After the French and Indian War the British needed a lot of money so they put a lot of taxes on the colonists. This is what started the Revolutionary War. -

Sugar Act
The British aimed at ending the smuggling trade in sugar and molasses. The people protested against this act and continued to smuggle goods. -
Stamp Act
Declared that all printed material had to carry a stamp and that stamp was not free. This affected the people who used paper a lot like newspaper makers and lawyer's. The people came together and boycotted British goods. -
Declaratory Act
This happened after the colonies didn't agree with the Stamp Act so the British got rid of it. The British still needed an Act to get money from the colonists so they created the Declaratory Act. This Act only created more tension between the colonists and Britain. The colonists protested “no taxation without representation." -
Townshend Act
This taxed goods imported to the American colonies. The people responded with a boycott and women even made there own clothes instead of waring British clothes. -
Tea Act
Tax resumptions and rebates for tea coming in from the British east indie company which allowed them to dump cheap tea on the colony's and lowered the price of tea. The people responded with dumping tea into the harbor. -
