Life
Frederick Douglass was born as a slave in 1818 in Talbot County, Florida. He was born and grew up an orphan. His mom died when he was 10 and his father was supposedly his slave owner. -
Education
Frederick Douglass was traded to Baltimore as a slave after his mom died. At his Baltimore plantation his owner's wife taught him how to read which later helped him to aspire in life. -
Escape
In 1838, Frederick Douglass dressed in a sailors uniform and got to a train then on steamboat to New York where and he settled in Massachusets. -
Anti-Slavery
In 1841, Frederick Douglass became an anti-slave campaigner. He gave a speech about his life and how painful it was. -

Ammendments
In 1865, the 14 and 15 Ammendment was passed. This gave African Americans equal rights and slavery was abolished. This was the end of the Civil War. -
Death
On Feburary 20, 1895 Frederick Douglass died of old age when he was 77.
