Chapter 1
In this chapter, we learned about Max and Kevin. Grim and Gram were introduced as well, but we don't learn who they are until later in the book. -
Chapter 2
In this chapter, Max talks about Kevin moving in and his impression on Gwen. He learns about Kevin's personality when he orders the moving person around. -
Chapter 3
In this chapter, Max meets Kevin. He helps him get his ornithopter down from the tree. -
Chapter 4
In this chapter, Max and Kevin get to know eachother. They go to Max's basement. Gwen gets scared of Max and brings Kevin home. -
Chapter 5
In this chapter, Gwen calls Gram to apologize for confusing Max with his father. She invites him over for dinner at their house. -
Chapter 6
In this chapter, Max and Kevin go to the fireworks show. They meet Tony D. and his gang. Kevin called Tony D. a "cretin", which means a person who suffers from a mental deficiency. -
Chapter 7
In this chapter, Tony D. and his gang catch up with Max and Kevin. They chase them all the way into a mucky pond, where they stand ashore throwing rocks at the two. Luckily they see a cop car and are able to get home safely. -
Chapter 8
In this chapter, Max is treated like a hero for "saving" Kevin, although he didn't think of it that way. The police take him home and talk to Grim and Gram. They enjoy a bowl of ice cream and discuss how they plan to avoid them from now on. -
Chapter 9
In this chapter, Kevin rides on Max's shoulders and they go to the medical research center. Kevin tells him all about his doctors that are going to make him into the very first bionic human. However Max isn't supposed to tell anybody anything because it's top secret. -
Chapter 10
In this chapter, Freak shows up at Max's house with a quest. They prepare and wake up at 3 in the morning. They open up a storm drain and find a purse hanging on the grate. They look for an ID and find whom it belongs to.
