In chapter 4, Victor becomes very obsessed with his monster. This shows that once he starts something, he has to finish and it also shows that Victor can become very obsessed with certain things. One such example of this is how in chapter 1 Victor became very obsessed with his sister, Elizabeth. -

After the creature realizes that the family that he is stealing from is in fact being saddened by their poverty the creature helps Felix by gathering wood and putting it on their doorstep so that Felix won't have to do it. "they placed food before the old man when they reserved none for themselves." (Page 106)

The monster starts reading the book and he begins to feel really connected to it. It relates to his life and the way his and Frankenstein's relationship has turned out.

The monster gets really enraged and he kills Victor's brother. He also finds a picture of their mother in his pocket. He then frames Justine for the murder of Victor's brother.

The monster insists that Frankenstein should build a monster if he promises to stay away from him and his family. The monster wants a mate so that he doesn't feel lonely anymore.

Once Victor returns to Genova he begins to start creating another monster but he can't focus on his own work. His family begins to see that he is struggling with all this pressure and ensure them that they are on his side.

Frankenstein and Henry Clerval return to Oxford and Frankenstein realizes that Henry is much like him.

Frankenstein still tries and focuses on building the monster however he still gets very distracted. Victor becomes filled with regret knowing that his family is still in danger.

Victor has dangerous knowledge about the monster and how he caused the deaths of William, Justine and Henry. -
"This address caused a considerable change in the physiognomy of my own auditor. He had heard my story with that half kind of belief that is given to a tale of spirits and ....." Pg. 190 This quote talks about how Frankenstein talked to the magistrate about his creation ,the monster, but he didn't believe him which caused Frankenstein to have a horrible realization. Even though he has all the knowledge about the monster nobody would ever believe him.
