    The war was faught between the colonies of British America and New France. Both of the sides were supported by military.
  • The Treaty of Paris

    The Treaty of Paris
    The Treaty of paris was signed in Paris by representatives of King George III of Great Britain and representatives of the United States. This is important because this ended the American revolutionary War.
  • The Fall of Bastille

    The Fall of Bastille
    On July 14th, 1789 a crowd of several thousad people laid siege to the Bastille, a royal fortress on the eastern fringe of Paris. The bastille had served as a royal armoury and a prison. On July 14th it held few prisoners and was only lightly guarded. After a standoff that lasted into the afternoon, the crowd gained access to the Bastille. The fortress was claimed by people and later was destroyed on the order of the ne Paris commune.

    Napoleon was one of the greatest military strategists in history. he rapidly rose in the ranks of the French Revolutionary Army during the late 1790's. In 1799 napoleon reorganized his armies and defeated Austria.

    The Tour de France was the first cycling race in France sponsored by a newspaper name L'Auto. The race was won by Maurice Garin. Today the Tour de France is the most popular race in France. It starts at Montgeron and ends in Paris.

    During World War I France was one of the Triple Entente powers which was allied against the central Powers. Fighting occurred around the world but a lot of the fighting took place in Belgium, Luxemburg, France, and the Western Front.

    The Treaty of Versailles is a place where nations came together to end World War I. It was signed exactly five years after Archduke Franz Ferdinand was assasinated. This is important because there were many changes for Germany such as less army men, Germany took responsibility for the war, and Germany had to pay for most damages.

    During World War II German tanks had broken throught the main fronts along the Somme River and the fortified maginot Line on June 12. The Germans were moving closer to their goal which was Paris. During that time the British encourage France to resist at all costs.

    The Liberation of Paris was a military combat that took place during World War II from 19 August 1944 until the German garrison surrendered the French capital on 25 August 1944

    The French Indochina War war started on December 19th, 1946 and ended on August 1st 1954. It was about fighting between the French forces and their Viet Minh in the South.
