During the 1700 France and England were 2 great growing superpowers.They competed for wealth,power,and land in their growing empires.This rivalry caused bitter feeling between the French and Britsih colonists in North America. -

Growing Hostility
Hostility between England and France grew .British fur traders built a fort in a place called Pickawilliny.The French acting quickly drove the British out of Ohio.Soon though France also began to raid towns in Main and New York.In response the colonists captured important french forts but England returned them. -

The Iroqqoui came under pressure by the english who were moving into the Ohio valley.The leaders of the confederacy eventually gave the British ceartain trading rights which unbalanced the power between the french and english. -
