    Formation of the RCA
    The Formation of the Radio Corporation of America (RCA) was a chance for the U.S. Government to support a monopoly that was U.S. owned and operated to maintain control of the radio. The RCA operated as a patent pool allowing companies some control. This was all fundamental to Television through the U.S. having entertainment and communication control, which are some characteristics that TV adopts during its creation. The RCA later showed pres. FDR as the first president televised.

    The birth of the commercial broadcast model allowed revenue to flow through radio sales and developed programming. People and companies were allowed airtime if they were willing to pay. This opened the gateway for commercial broadcasting in television, getting revenue through its sales and broadcasting.

    NBC founded by the RCA was the first major broadcast network in the U.S. This was a foundation for the future of broadcasting especially in television. NBC is still today a major network and helped support the growth of television and communication.

    CBS is another major broadcasting network. The creation of this network helped strengthen the popularity of broadcasting and television. Starting in radio, NBC has grown and developed a foundational TV network. Alongside NBC, CBS still stands as a symbol of television and its evolution from radio.

    ABC was originally a radio network from NBC however became independent in radio and eventually television. ABC is now owned by the Disney company and is constantly setting new standards for television. Starting in radio, ABC helped the era of television and entertainment grow into its success today.

    Integrated advertising helped the growth of consumerism. This method was highlighted through television. TV became and still is an effective way to advertise and promote consumerism. Due to television's popularity, integrated advertising saw a boom when TV was incorporated. The integrated advertising from the 50's helped shaped the advertisement strategies we see in TV today.

    "The Tonight Show" has had a lasting impact on the television viewing and format. NBC deciding to produce a show that deals with popular culture through television was monumental for the growth and structure of TV. "The Tonight Show" is still airing today and sparked a wave of talk shows to help bring people together for entertainment from TV.
