Boston Tea Party
The Boston Tea Party was a revolt against the taxations of the Colonial States. A group of protesters dressed up as Mohawk Indians and boarded three British tea ships and dumped a lot of tea into the harbor. This was important because the British Parliament was furious with the states and made the Intolerable Acts, which put the Colonies in a situation so bad they had to plan a revolution. -

George Washington died of quinsy. Quincy is a throat infection that is caused by an bacterial infection spreading to the tonsils. His death caused unity in a mourning country. -

This election marks the first change in power in a country, that doesn't lead to mass conflict. Thomas Jefferson said "We are all republicans, we are all federalists." This quote shows that the party that lost isn't a traitor or an enemy, they are still U.S citizens that have a right to their opinions. -

Justice John Marshall voided a act of the congress because it was unconstitutional. This is one of the first cases were the judge ruled something unconstitutional and that the court has the power to strike down laws that they deem unconstitutional.
