This amendment limited that the president may only be elected to serve for two terms, and no more than that. Specifically saying: "No person shall be elected to the office of the President more than twice, and no person who has held the office of President, or acted as President, for more than two years of a term to which some other person was elected President shall be elected to the office of the President more than once." -

Fourteen year-old Emmett Till was visiting family in Money, Mississippi when he decided to visit a grocery store to buy some bubble gum. He was then accused of allegedly whistling at the white, female storeowner/cashier. Days later her husband and his half brother kidnapped Till, beat him, shot him in the head and then threw his body to the bottom of the Tallahatchie River. Three days after that, his body was recovered and the mean were tried, but were acquitted by an all white male jury. -
The Little Rock Nine
The Little Rock Nine was a group of young African American teens who enrolled in Little Rock Central High School in 1957, which was formally known as a all white school, but now had to be integrated because of a supreme decision for all public schools to be integrated "with all deliberate speed". At first the children were blocked from entering the school by the National Guard, but later in the same month federal troop s were used to escort them into the school. -
Lyndon B. Johnson becomes president of the United States
In the 1960 campaign, Lyndon B. Johnson was elected Vice President as John F. Kennedy's running mate. On November 22, 1963, when Kennedy was assassinated, Johnson was sworn in as the 36th United States President, with a vision to build "A Great Society" for the American people. -

Apollo 11 was the spaceflight that landed the first two humans on the Moon. Mission commander Neil Armstrong and pilot Buzz Aldrin, both American, landed the lunar module Eagle. this was an important event in the Space Race between the Soviets and the U.S. because even though they had been the first to send humans into outer space, America was the first to send humans to the moon. -

Woodstock was a hip music festival that was scheduled for three days, but actually lasted for almost four. The festival was called "Woodstock", because the investment group that backed the concert was called "Woodstock Ventures." It was originally planned for Saugerties, and then the Town of Wallkill, in Orange County. Woodstock was a way for the generation to express themselves and rebel against their uptight parents. -

Blue Ribbon Sports was founded in 1964, by Bill Bowerman and Phil Knight. It then officially became Nike, Inc. on May 30, 1971, taking it's name from Nike, the Greek goddess of victory. with it's mission being "To bring inspiration and innovation to every athlete". And its trademark Nike Swoosh was created in 1971 by Carolyn Davidson, while she was a graphic design student at Portland State University where she met Phil Knight, who was at the time teaching accounting classes at the university. -
Roe vs. Wade Court Case
This court case was one of the first real public airing on the issue of abortion and how the Supreme Court feels about it. It held the conclusion that the Constitution protected a woman's right to abort "prior to the viability of the fetus". It officially legalized abortion in the first trimester of pregnancy (along with Doe vs. Balton). -

And even after the presidency, he was continued to be known as a distinguished humanitarian, author and man who pursued resolves conflict around the world. -

O'Connor served her appointment from 1981 under Ronald Reagan until her retirement in 2006. In fact in 2009, her work was even honored by President Obama with Presidential Medal of Freedom. when she was nominated as a associate justice, there was unanimous approval from the U.S. Senate. She's seen as significant in breaking new ground for women in the legal field when she was sworn in. -

Berlin Wall Falls
The Berlin Wall was a guarded concrete barrier that physically and ideologically divided Berlin from 1961 to 1989. The Berlin Wall was torn down as a symbol of the fall of the repressive East German communist government. When East Germans were finally allowed to freely enter West Germany, on Nov. 9, 1989, thousands of Germans responded emotionally by demolishing the wall with sledgehammers, pickaxes and other implements.
