According to American officials, it was a war against communism itself and worked anxiously to form a truce with the North Koreans. In July 1953, the war came to an end.

    Chessman was arrested for sexually assaulting two women. As a result, his death sentence was applied and convicted as the "Red Light Bandit". After 12 years in prison, Chessman failed to maintain his innocence. There was a thick manuscript in the courtroom to save his life but it was too late.     The Hippie Movement in the mid 1960's was one of America's odd social movements. They consisted of white and middle class people who wore blue jeans, grew beards, smoked marijuana and some were homosexuals. Hippies were known to dominate entire urban neighborhoods in San Francisco and New York.     A spacecraft that landed the first two Americans, Neil Armstrong and Buzz Aldrin. Armstrong was the first human to step foot on the lunar surface. Aldrin then joined him and spend about two and a quarter hours together collecting 47.5 pounds of lunar material to bring back to Earth.

    Gamal Abdel Nasser's death

    Nasser was the second President of Egypt who served from 1956 until his death. He led the 1952 overthrow of the monarchy and the following year initiated far-reaching land. Not only he was president, he appointed himself prime minister in 1968 and issued a set of political liberalization reforms. Right after the 1970 Arab League summit, Nasser passed away with a heart attack.

This was not expected because they had not been invited since the Communist takeover in 1949.     Lennon was shot twice in the back of the head by Mark David Chapman. This took place on the Upper West Side of New York. Most people who knew about this gathered together in Central Park to grieve for his death.
