    Franz Anton Mesmer treated patients with mental health conditions with hypnosis. Hypnosis is a form of therapy that changes the state of awareness of the patient and increases relaxation that allows for improved focus and concentration.

    Sigmund Freud founded talk therapy and analysis of dreams to treat mental health conditions. Psychotherapy is a variety of treatments that aim to help a person identify and fix emotions, thoughts, and behaviors in a mentally ill person

    Electric shock therapy was invented in the 1930s and was made by Ugo Cerletti and Lucio Bini. This form of therapy consists of an electric current is used to cause a epileptic seizure for therapeutic purposes.

    António Egas Moniz created this form of treatment for patients in the 1930s. This treatment consists of surgically cutting or removing the connections between the brain's prefrontal cortex and frontal lobes.

    This therapy was made by Ladislaus von Meduna. This therapy consisted of introducing seizures using a stimulant medication.
  • Person-centered therapy

    Carl Rogers founded person-centered therapy which the client takes control of the conversation and the therapist acts as a guide for the patient. This form of therapy is a non-directive approach to talk therapy. This was developed after Psychotherapy was made and is another form of it.

This type of therapy is described as a therapy that allows patients to use tools or activities to recreate situations in their lives. Patients reenact moments to get through things that cause them mental distress.

    Dialectical Behavior Therapy is a type of talk therapy for people who feel emotions very intensely. It is commonly used for mood disorders such as BPD. It can also be used for suicidal ideation and substance abuse issues. This form of therapy was founded by Marsha Linehan.
