    -These technologies allowed for an even larger increase in food production.
    -Genetically Modified crops produce foods that are bigger and better than avergage crops.
    -Genetic engineering and new fertiizers made crops more resistant to various harmful pests and weather conditions.
  • Food Safety

    Food Safety
    -FDA and USDA begin to regulate food quality and health codes much closer than ever before.
    -During this time, more women continue to join the workforce creating a larger demand for convenient pre-packaged foods.
    -Emphasis is put on food labels and consumers start to become more aware and conscious of healthy dietary choices.
    -The US continues to import a large amount of goods leading to a continuous increase in diverse ethnic foods available.
