    "Food was essential for this period of time so soldiers would not have to spend time looking & foraging for food." Soldiers food supply wasn't the greatest, needed enough nutrients to have the willing power to win war. Civilians created gardens, which allowed more commercially grown produce. They also needed to feed allies, so cutting off enemy's food supply were one of their objectives.

    "Because of economic times, people began adding in bread crumbs & looking for other types of fat to add in cakes and sweets due to availability and cost." Soldiers, marines, and sailors were far away from a kitchen, so they had to carry heavy boxes of prepacked food to survive. Government implied rationing of food supplies, to make sure that everyone got some. Cured meals, hard cheeses, & bread were the food of choice for the warfare.

    "Women began joining the work force & were looking for quick meals & convenience foods. New products were in demand at the supermarkets." The 1950's was the 'Golden Age' of processed food. Frozen, pre-pared meals were often known meals to enjoy in front of tv. Woman roles were to just raise the family at first in the 50's.

    "Better food quality from the FDA & ASDA came into effect as well as government of new t assistance for those in need." Economics were booming after war was over. Allowed for creation of new commercial products and medicine. Need of labor opened opportunities, unemployment decreased.
  • 1980's-2000's

    1980's-2000's
    "Food safety became a factor as well as the introduction of more global & international foods." Brought approach to present food-born illnesses. The death of people from non safety skills led the government to implying the administration (FDA). The meat inspection act was was passed the same day.
