    British
When the British came they brought some different foods. Since they were the first settlers in Australia besides the Aboriginals (who ate damper, grubs and other bush tucker) they brought their own food. Some of these foods included "Our Mate" which Australia changed to "Marmite" and gravy recipes. Mainly, the British brought staple foods, such as wheat, flour and other grains. They also brought potatoes, onions, sugar, tea and varieties of fruit and vegetables.

  • My Birthday

My family migrated from Italy, therefore i have been brought up with Italian food all my life. However I am a big fan of Asian foods such as Chinese, Japanese and Thai. When i go out with friends I love buying sushi for lunch, I could live on it! Sushi first came to Australia in 1989 by the Japanese. I also love our traditional Australian foods such as fish & chips, meat pies and vegemite.

Some typical Australian foods are meat pie, pavlova, anzac biscuits, cherry ripe, dim sim, fish and chips, mashed potatoes and sausages, steak and three veggies. Seafood is a staple food because of our vast coastlines. Barbecues are also very popular in Australia, due to our warm climate we are able to enjoy a barbecue on a warm night often in summer. We also have our native animals available at the butcher, such as kangaroo and crocodile. A world wide famous Australian product is Vegemite.
