Morning Walk
How I feel about it-
At the start of the book it was very peacful, and it had a lot of history about the land and what had happened inthe past. I enjoyed this part in the book because it had alot of description.
I predict that they will invade the place.
I could not think of any thing that would be similar. -
Period: to
Follow The Rabbit Proof Fence
-
Captain Fremantle And His Men
Naming Of Australia In this part of the book I was curious about what was going to happen next. Because I thought that now that they named the country maybe they would do something with the tribes. -
Captain Stirlings Arrival
This part is about the laws and that they are braking the Aboriginals laws, and shooting the people of the tribe. I feel that this is sad and that the English men should obey the laws of the Aboriginal people. -
The Death Of the The Younger Brother
I was sad when they discribed how he killed the cattle, but it was also sad that the youngest boy died trying to feed his family and friends. And then when they had to put the cattle to sleep. But I was very happy when they had a ritual for the brother and buried him. -
The Man on The Horse
I thought it was going to be an animal, something that they would eat, but it was a man on a horse. He ended up being a very nice man, who brought them food and drink. I was very relieved that the family did not end up injured or dead. -
The Clothing
I felt sorry for them because I thought it would be hot enough, but when they have to wear clothing that covered there whole bodies. -
Leaving Talawana Station
They followed the rabbit proof fence to find where they want to get to.
When they said that they were in fear that they might get killed whilst travelling made me worry about what might happen to them. -
Reunting With The Brother
I was really confused in this bit, but when I read it acouple of times over I understood it. They told eachother stories about what had happened in there. -
Going To Savory Creek
Followed the rabbit proof fence to savory creek. Some of the men got married and one women got married. In this part they descriebed why the rabbit proof fence was built for and when it was complete (1907). -
Expecting A Child
When I read this part I was sort of predicted what was going to happen because it already said that there were going to be three girls, so i was expecting them soon. -
Birth Of Molly
The birth of Molly seemed very calm. Because they went into the forest away from the family. -
Gracie and Daisy
In this part Molly was getting picked on fromt he other children because her father was a white man. One of the men sent a note to people incharge about being sent away because of the bullying. But then Molly found out that there were also 2 other girls like her and her and Gracie became best friends -
The Escape
During this adventure away from the settlement back to Jigalong, they passed through many stuggles and when I was reading i thought one of them would get seriously hurt or die. On this adventure they passed by search helicopters, strong rivers, marbu (flesh-eating spirit), hunt for food, and many more obsticles. If I was in their shoes I dont think I could have done it, I would try but what these girls did was amazing and very brave. -
Reuniting with their families
I was very happy that they found their way home, because I would have found it very hard to have been parted with my family. After that journey 1,600 kilometers, they deserve to have found their families. -
Where are they now?
Molly-
Got married, and had 2 daughters- Doris (author) and Annabelle. She was employed and trained at Balfour Downs Station as a domestic help
Gracie-
She was transported back to the settlement, and her last name was changed to Jigalong. Then she left the settlement and worked as a domestic help on various farms. She got married and
had 6 children.
