Signed by king Henry IV of France it granted religious freedom to the Huguenots. It gave them more rights than they had previously although Louis the XIV later revoked it. -
English Civil War
The English Civil War was fought between King Charles I and parliament. The war ended with the defeat of King Charles and his execution. -
Execution of Charles I
After waging war against parliament Charles was defeated by Oliver Cromwell. He was then executed and this shocked Europe. -
Louis the XIV revokes the edict of Nantes
Louis revoked the Edict of Nantes to further secure his power as king. He also harbored a deep distrust of his people and so he took the rights of Huguenots away. -

The Glorious Revolution had very little blood and battle. William , husband of Mary of Orange, simply marched in with support of parliament and took the throne from James II. -

The 13 colonies of England were upset with how they had little rights and wanted independence. They declared independence and beat England in a war for it. The war ended in 1783. -

Mathew Perry opened trade to Japan
Mathew Perry was ordered to open up trade and sea ports with Japan for the US. He did this by intimidating the Japanese with his fleet of warships and they signed the treaty of Kanagawa
