    Welcome to my timeline. I made my timeline about the first astronauts in space. In my timeline there are 10 events about different astronauts. Enough talking, let's go check out my timeline.
  • Yuri Alekseyevich Gagarin

    Yuri Alekseyevich Gagarin
    Yuri Gagarin was the very first person to go to space! WOW! He went to space on April 12th, 1961. My parents weren’t even alive then and they're old. He was the first Russian to go to space. Yuri was in space for only 1 hour and 48 minutes. While he was an astronaut, he was also a Soviet Air Force Pilot and a Cosmonaut.
  • Alan Shepard

    Alan Shepard
    Alan Shepard was the second person to go to space. He went to space on May 5th, 1961. Alan was the first American to go to space. Alan was aboard Mercury 3 on his mission to space. He only flew 116 miles high before he came down. Sadly, his flight only lasted 15 and a half minutes.

    Gus Grissom
    Gus Grissom was the third person to go to space. He went to space on July 21st, 1961. Before Gus was an astronaut he was a pilot for the Korean War. Gus went to space 2 times. He was also 1 of 3 astronauts killed in the Apollo 1 fire.
  • Gherman Titov

    Gherman Titov
    Gherman Titov was the fourth person to go to space. He is the 2nd Russian to go to space. He went to space on August 6th, 1961. Gherman went to space when he was only 26 years old! He was the youngest person to go to space. He flew on Vostok 2 on his space mission.
  • John Glenn

    John Glenn
    John Glenn was the fifth person to go to space. He went to space on February 20th, 1962. He was aboard Friendship 7 that flew 17 000 miles per hour in space! John went to space twice. The second time he went to space he was 77 years old, the oldest person to go to space!
  • Scott Carpenter

    Scott Carpenter
    Scott Carpenter was the sixth person in space. Scott only went to space once. He went to space on May 24th, 1962. He was aboard Aurora 7 on his mission to space. His mission was to prove that any astronaut could work in space.
  • Andrian Nikolayev

    Andrian Nikolayev
    Andrien was the seventh person to go to space. He went to space twice. The first time he went to space was on August 11th, 1962. He was aboard Vostok 3. The second time he was aboard Soyuz 9. Andrian made a record of staying in space for 4 days!
  • Pavel Popovich

    Pavel Popovich
    Pavel Popovich was the eighth person to go to space. He went to space twice. He went on August 12th, 1962 the first time, aboard Vostok 4. The second time he went in 1974, aboard Soyuz 14.
  • Walter Schirra

    Walter Schirra
    Walter Schirra was the ninth person to go to space. He went to space 3 times. The first flight he piloted Mercury 8 on October 3rd, 1962. His mission was to prove that astronauts could do different types of movements. The second time he went aboard Gemini 6 in 1965. The last time he went aboard Apollo 7 in 1968.
  • Gordon Cooper

    Gordon Cooper
    Gordon Cooper was the tenth person in space. He was an air force pilot. He went to space twice. He was the first American to sleep in space. His first flight was aboard Gemini 5 on May 15th, 1963. That mission was to prove astronauts could stay in space for 8 days. It took him 8 days to get to the moon. Gordon was the last person to pilot Mercury missions in 1963.
