Invasions of the Roman Empire
-The neighboring Germanic tribe the Visigoths looked for protection inside the Roman Empire in 376 A.D. they got permission to cross the Danube River the Romans regreted their discion and sent an army and lost the battle and then the Visigoths looted their cities.
-I chose this because such a highly intelligent government like Rome making such a bad descison that turned to badly for them
-This led to the Fall of Rome -

The "Fall of Rome"
-Rome was seemed to be untouchable until the start of their fall
-Odoacer captured Rome and forced the emperor to give up his throne and declaired himself king of Italy this time period is refered to as the "Fall of Rome"
-I chose this because people thought there was never going to be an end to Rome
-This shows that no matter how successfull an empire is there can be a downfall -

-Sparta was located in Laconia an isloated reigon in the Peloponnesus
-This society was strictly governed by the government and their way of life revolved around the military
-I chose this because Sparta was such a physically stronge society but lacked the intellectual aspect of
government when compared to Athens but this did not stop them
-they were still away ahead of their time and were able to conqure territory all over Europe very powerful -

-Acheans banded together under the leaership of the king of Myceane to attack Troy a rival power
-This was because Troy controlled trade routes between the Aegean and Black seas
-I chose this because the Trojan War was thought to be a myth due to the outrageous stories in the Iliad and Odyssey written by Homer
-It was not till the late 1800s historians considered the Odyssey fiction and that Homers work was not jus amazing literature but also was based on real events -

-The scientific method came out during a time when you wanted an answer to an unexplainable question you would go to the church and they would give you a very religious answer the scientific method incouraged people to answer these questions by using reason
-I chose this because this led to some of the most revolutionary discoveries
-People started thinking using reason and this created so much change -

Julius Caesar
-Julius Caesar became the dictator of Rome until his assaination by the senate
-After Julius's death there were checks and balances put in place to prevente another dictator from coming to power again
-I chose this because Rome was so ahead and then later insead of improving we stop and do not make any new dicoveries
-Romes new government is what in the U.S and alot of other countires base their government off still to these days -
Hobbes and Locke
-These two men are great examples of the use of the scientific method they questioned the government idea of devine right and absolute monarch and they both came up with new government ideas and this inspired other people to create their own ideas about governments
-I chose this because the idea of people creating with their own mind instead of religion very impowering
-This changed the way people expained nature and created a new way of thinking -
The Agricultural Revolution
-The Agriculture Revolution was all about creating new machines to help increase the amount and variety of food production
-I chose this because the one of the reasons why the Industrial Revolutions got under way first in Britain was a revolution in agriculture -The Agriculture Revolution help start the Industrial Revolution -
The Road to the American Revolution
-The Americans were angry with the British because of the lack of representation in Parliament and the British way of resolving this was by inforcing all this new acts to show their dominace which just made the Americans more angry
-I chose this because the British could have just given the Americans what they wanted and they just created more trouble for themselves
-This is going to lead to a revolution with all the odds against the Americans -
An American Victory
-The odds were all against the Americans but after eight long years revoulting they succeded and drove out the British
-I chose this because the success of the American Revolution created a wave of other countries to do the same
-This created other countires to think for themself -
Reign of Terror
-The Committee of Public Safety was put in place during the French Revolution and had almost dictatorial powers and it waged a brutal campaign against people it considered to be enemies of France the Committee executed around 20,000-40,000 people in one year
-I chose this because it was an major point in the French Revolution
-The Reign of Terror messed up the stucture of the French's goernment -
Napoleon Coming to Power
-The whole point of the French Revolution was to get away from an absolute monarch like the Americans did but the French Revolution left the country very weak and Napoleon reconized that and invaded and became the French's new dictator the French had fallen apart so badly they say Napoleon as good and he did improve and build the French up
-I chose this because Napoleon reconized the French were in trouble and came in to help them and did
-This revolution helps spread the idea of revolt/change -
Split Between the North and South
-Slavery became a big issue and this led to the split of the North and South because of their views on slavery
-I chose this because this was a major turing point in U.S. history
-This led to the abolish of slavery and everyone becoming more equal -
Revolutions of 1830
-The Dutch and Austrain Netherlands had been united under the Dutch King. However the Belgians who lived in the south of the country, despite the arrangement. They spoke a different language from the dutch and aslo were Roman catholic while the Dutch were Proestant. However all the revolutions that broke out in 1830 failed.
-I chose this because to decide to create a Revolution must be very challenging
-The Revolutions of 1830 helped influnece other countrys to revolute and demand for change -
Industrial Revolution
-The Industrial Revolution was all about puting machine and man together in factories to increase production
-I chose this because the Industrail Revolution created mass production
-The Industrail Revolution created more jobs which meant there was more money to be speant and this imporved the economy -
The Revolutions of 1848
-The idea of revolution was beoming very widepread in 1848 and many countries like Paris tried revolting and all of the revolts failed but it was not for nothing it taught people what not to do one might say
-I chose this because all these failed revolutions taught everyone so much on a how revolution should happen to be successful
-This led to more successful revolutions -
Realism
-By the mid-1800s, many writers began to rebel against romanticism. They thought that wriiers should present a realistic view of life, including the ugly parts.
-This was the first time that everything was not based on religion and things were moving away strickly about religion
-This helped to open peoples mind and move away from just focusing on religion -
The Right to Vote
-As the U.S. expanded westward, democracy also expanded. In most of the 13 colonies, only white men with proerty could vote. In 1850 most states dropped these restrictions and had adopted voting by all white men.
-I chose this because this was a step forward to letting everyone vote in the U.S.
-In the U.S. only allowing white males with property the right to vote only let a select few to vote this let more men vote -
Charles Darwin
-Charles Darwin was a British biologist that published a book named On the Orgin of Species that presented the theory of evolution
-I chose this because Darwin is an great example of someone using the scientific method and using reasoning instead of the church
-Darwin was judged a lot for this theory but overtime people came to accept the idea -
Expansion of Rome
-Rome was ahead of its time with having a Democratic government
-Rome also had an amzing military and when they were expanding and at their peak controling most of Europe they were conquring new countires all the time an giving them a steady ecomomic government
-I chose this because of how ahead of rome time they were
-Rome conquering a country was good for some countires that were struggling some wanted to be conqured by Rome
