Agriculture Adjustment Act of 1933
This Farm Bill was apart of Roosevelts New Deal programs. It was intended to help boost the agriculture prices while reducing surpluses. Many things during this time hurt the agriculture prices. There was a huge surplus and coming from the highs of the First World War, they were not prepared for the Great Depression coming at the end. This caused the Agriculture market to drop drastically. With this program farmers were being paid to plant less causing their profit to increase by 50% by 1935. -

Agriculture Adjustment Act of 1933
The Act was seeming to go great for the farmers; however, in 1936 the Supreme Court ruled it as unconstitutional and ended the bill in 1942. Even though this bill was shut down it made a way for many more programs to start. -
Food Security Act of 1985
The main thing this bill was developed for was to allow lower commodity price and income supports while establishing a dairy herd buyout program. This bill was used to create the frame work that the Secretary of Agriculture will administer agriculture and food programs for the next 4 years. -

There were many provisions under this act. The main ones were designed to discourage the conversion of wetlands into non-wetland areas. These provisions can be found in the act referred to as the swamp buster provisions. This program made changes to several USDA programs including sodbuster and the Conversion Reserve Program. -
Agriculture Improvement Act of 2018
The main purpose of this bill was to give the Agriculture community more money for expenditures. Many of the things this bill helped with were previously laid out in the 2014 bill; however, this bill expanded the 2014 bill by reauthorizing $867 billion to expenditures. -

Another thing this bill did is it changed the Hemp world forever. This Act removed hemp from being listed under the definition of marijuana. This making the first real step into legalizing marijuana.
