Email is received from Northfield school detailing why I could not film there. The original idea is scrapped. I go to plan a new film as filming in general is delayed until further notice. -

Filming Dates

Test Footage
First day of the filming for the new idea. Due to travelling issues the shoot only lasts one hour. Only 15 seconds worth of footage is taken, most of which is removed in later edits. This becomes my test footage. -
Blessing in disguise
Filming is planned to film the rest of the video for today. The lead actress contacts me 30 minutes until the shoot saying that she cannot make it. In the long run this helped me organise a much more powerful ending by organising new cast members to appear in the end of the video. However in the short term this was a significant set back. -
First Filming Session with Monsters
The lead actress was unavailable due to work commitments. Instead I decide to shoot some scenes involving just the monsters. Almost all of these scenes make it into the final cut. -
First filming session with monsters and lead actress
Scenes filmed including my brother and lead actress.Some shots in the final cut. The weather was very cold on these days and I was aware on the day after in post production that a significant portion of the footage had to be re-filmed. -
First Wednesday filming session
Filming of the lead actress is done on a weekday due to the ideal time of filming completion coming closer. This becomes regular in the future for the filming. No re-filming is needed from this session for the video. From memory this was the second best day as far as filming goes. -
Poor filming session
An important day for the film. The idea is to get the majority of the footage filmed on this day. Sadly the cast motivation was low and some were difficult to co-operate with. While the middle section I wanted to be filmed was completed, I did not film the end and the beginning filming was incredibly poor due to lighting and my personal direction. I call of filming early due to the lack of motivation in the cast and my personal de motivation because of how the filming went down. -
Worst Filming Session
Filming is organised for Thursday Morning from the morning until the afternoon. The weather is dreadful which makes the lighting continuity wise a nightmare. The actress turns up late, states that she can only film for 90 minutes and has dyed her hair. Due to continuity nightmare that is occurring on set I decide to abandon filming. All shots from this session never make it to the final cut. It is this filming session that made me decide to turn all of my footage into black and white. -
Stock Footage Filming Session
Changes are made to the beginning to make it easier to film. Instead, I decide to film sections with my brother to to accommodate the alteration in the beginning and the narrative as one of the other monsters in the filming had dropped out. This would overall make it easier to film and organise future sections. -

New Begginning
A new beginning is shot to accommodate the lack of filming time left for the production and the impossibility to organize all cast members together to shoot the beginning before Christmas. The new beginning turns out improved over the original in post-production. -
Best Filming Session
The most important day of filming in the entirety of its production. Due to cast members dropping out, I have to play one of the supporting monsters and ask a friend to be the camera man for the day. Unexpectedly this is the most successful days for filming. The most important shot is filmed with success and some continuity issues within the narrative are resolved with new shots. Not every shot is filmed but the most important shots are complete. A significant amount of the footage does not make -
Clean-up
Final day of the shoot, this session just cleans up any continuity in the end that was not already filmed with the lead actress. The final day was basically cleaning up any shots that were not filmed on the the previous filming session. This was also the day that the lighting was good enough to finally re-film the test footage and remove it from the cut! -
Refilm
New shots are taken place to increase the professionalism with the use of pull focuses on a DSLR. -
Final Filming Date
This day was used to get the last of the pull focus shots complete. Some of the shots that were taken todya were put into the final cut. For this reason I would say that this exta day of filming was justified
