French and Indian War
French and Indian War that started in 1754. The British had declared war on the French. Most American Indians that were around the region were allies of the French. They favored the French because they traded but did not settled on the land. In 1754, Benjamin Franklin agreed the colonies to work together to defeat France and they would create one government together to decide issues. -
Treaty of Paris
The Treaty of Paris ended the French and Indian War and was signed in February 10, 1763 by Great Britain, France, Spain and Portugal in agreement. This destroyed the colonial empire of France allowing Great Britain more control of North America. The treaty also served its purpose in setting new borders for the United States, which included land of the Great Lakes and from the Atlantic Ocean to the Mississippi River. -
Boston Tea Party
The Boston Tea Party that happened December 16, 1973. A group of Massachusetts colonist disguised as Mohawk Indians board three British tea ships and dump 342 chests of tea into the harbor to protest the British Act. Many colonist including Benjamin Franklin condemn the Tea party as a frivolous destruction. -
Declaration of Independence
Declaration of Independence that helped the thirteen colonies break away from the British rule and claim their own independence. -
First Inauguration
The first inauguration of speech happened on April 30, 1789 beginning our first president and great military leader George Washington and our first vice president John Adams. -
Whiskey Rebellion
The federal government passed a tax on whiskey in 1791 and farmers were refusing to pay it and this went on up until 1974 when the farmers assaulted federal tax collects. President George Washington called upon the national military to help and this was known as the Whiskey Rebellion.
