    Fidel Castro was born on the eastern coast of Cuba, he was the son of a well-known Spanish-born landowner.

    First movements

    In 1953, Castro prepare his army to move against military dictator Fulgencio Batista who failed to attack Moncada Barracks in Santiago Cuba. In May 1955, Castro is given amnesty and left prison for Mexico. In 1956, after surviving on December 2, Castro alongside twelve men including his brother Raul Castro and Che Guevara regroup in the Sierra Maestra mountains to strategize and launch a guerrilla war.

    Supreme Commander of the Armed Forces of Cuba

    In 1959, Castro enters Havana as a supreme commander of the armed forces to begin his political, economic, and social transformation of Cuba. He launches the agrarian reform and nationalizes most of the foreign businesses, and also took control of the local business. Castro was named prime minister.
    On January 3, 1961, the U.S. breaks all diplomatic ties with Havana, Cuba. On April 16, Castro declares his socialist revolution and was defeated by the U.S. putting Cubans at the Bay of Pigs.
