  • 20th century

    Two opposite alliances were created in Europe: the Triple Entente and the Triple Alliance. The Triple Entente was created by Britain, France and Russia, the Triple Alliance was created by Austria

  • 1914

    The first world war started when Franz Ferdinand was assassinated by a Serbian student in Sarajevo. Austria, then, declared war on Serbia, and Russia and France went to Serbia's aid.

  • 1915

    Italy entered the war.

  • 1917

    The Russian army retreated, and the United States entered in the war in Allied Forces' support ,after Germany has launched submarine attacks on American ships.

  • 1918

    The war has ended.

  • 1919

    The victorious nations took part in a summit, Germany and Austria were considered to be responsible of the war, so they were excluded form the summit.
