    Ellen shared her findings at the World's Fair in Chicago and she also served meals as well as educating about nutrition in her Rumford Kitchen Exhibit.

    11 leaders gathered in Lake Placid, NY The name "Home Economics" was adopted for the FCS profession
  • American Home Economics Association

    At the Lake Placid conference, they decided to unify the movement and create a national organization and appointed Richards as the president for the first two years.
  • Smith Lever Act

    enacted a system of cooperative extension services and it was connected to the Land Grant Universities so that they could update people about current upgrades in the agricultural field, home economics, etc.
