    The Baroque style started in the 1600's-1650's It is the period of history of Western arts roughly coinciding with the 17th century. Fashion in the 1600's main aspects were lace, ruff, and linen collars. In the 1650's-1700's WEstern European fashion rapidly changed due to the military influences.

    In the late 1720's the Rococo style became popular. The style was a combination of the baroque and the french rocallie. In the late 1700's the revolution style came to existence. Hoop skirts were left behind in the 1740's. in the 1780'[s the panniers finally disappeared. By the 1790's skirts were still somewhat full.

    In the early 1800's, After the French Revolution no one wanted to appear as an aristocrat, while in Brittan , Beau Brummell , introduced the trousers, perfect tailoring, and unadorned, the proper clothing for men's fashion. Womens fashion followed classic ideas. in the 1840's fashion clothing was a narrow, natural shoulder line also the exaggerated puffed sleeves.

    The 1920's is the decade that fashion became into the modern era. Women began to wear more comfortable clothes. Men abandoned overly formal clothes and began to wear sport clothes for the first time. The suits men still wear today are based off of the 1920's suits.
