The Americans and British begin thier plan to invade France and defeat Germany. This called for a huge offensive on the beaches of Normandy The first of the troops landed at 6:30 AM.

Some Germans grew to hate World War 2 so a major plot to assassinate Hitler was being made to kill Hitler by planting a bomb in his shelter while the explosion did kill/wound 20 people Hitler emerged alive he believed that fate was on his side so Hitler refused to surrender.

Mussolini Executed

As the Allies were pushing eastward they were able to capture Mussolini as he was fleeing Switzerland. He was then executed.

Hitler commits suicide

Hitler was going crazy he was writing orders for armies that didn't exist and tried to give orders that no one would follow Hitler decided to end it and he went into his secret bunker with his wife (they were married for one day) and killed himself. Germany surrendered to the Allie's soon afterward.
