    In 1994, the Family and Consumer Sciences Division of the American Vocational Association created nine specific goals to provide direction for the program curriculum. These goals guided the development of national family and consumer sciences content standards during the 1990s.

    February 13th, 2019 marked UCA’s American Association of Family and Consumer Sciences 100th birthday. The organization was established in 1919 and was originally called the home economics.
