Egypt signs the Treaty of Friendship with Soviet Union in 1971.They agree on a peaceful use of atomic energy. They did this treaty to strengthen each other on the basis of mutual respect. source

Anwar al-Sadet ends the Treaty of Friendship with Soviet Union in 1976. This decision helped maintain peace and help to make the army strogner and better in numbers. Egypt used American funding to develop there economy and make it better. source

In 2006, 1,000 people die due to a ferry sinking in the Red Sea. There were 1,400 people on the vessel. The people were coming from Saudi Arabia. source

Egypt's last leader Mohamed Morsi returns to court in Cairo for allegedly killing a protestor. After this happened President Adly Mansour said there will be know more "pharaoh presidents". This happened on February 4, 2014.
