Radio
Radio is the technology of using radio waves to carry information, such as sound and images, by systematically modulating properties of electromagnetic energy waves transmitted through space, such as their amplitude, frequency, phase, or pulse width. Used to control large and small machines which in the past were controlled by humans. They are also in homes, where they are used for things such as listening to music, reading the news and writing. A wireless handheld device that allows users to make and receive calls and to send text messages, among other features. "It was my mom's phone I first used." (Carl)

A handheld game console manufactured by Nintendo, which was released on October 21, 1998 in Japan and was released in November of the same year in international markets. "Our parents' gift to us during our birthdays." (Carl & Marl) -
Laptop
A battery- or AC-powered personal computer generally smaller than a briefcase that can easily be transported and conveniently used in temporary spaces such as on airplanes, in libraries, temporary offices, and at meetings. "I thought it was a DVD player, but my mom told me it was a laptop." (Carl)
