In the last part of the book Kate starts avoiding Liz. Not talking to her at all. Liz is freaking out. So one day she finally decides to corner Kate. She asks why Kate is avoiding her. Kate looks up and is crying. She says that Mike (Liz`s older brother) raped her. A trial is set. Mike is accused not guilty and Kate and Liz dont talk. Liz goes to phtography school and Kate majors in dance.
