John Diefenbaker, the government of Prime Minister, endorsed the bid. $20 million provided by the federal government, $15 million provided by the Quebec government and the City of Montreal would spend $5 milion. -

French President Visited Expo 67
Charles de Gaulle, the French president in 1967, visited the World's Exhibition in Montreal, Quebec. He stood on the balcony of city hall in Montreal, giving a speach to 10,000 people. He repeated the phrase "Vive le Quebec! Vive le Quebec libre", the slogan of the separatists in Quebec. -
