The pope declared that the land West or a pole-to-pole line should belong to Spain, so that it would be more evenly distributed. This did not satisfy Portugla who felt like the land they had was being overlooked. -

Treaty of Tordesilla
This treaty was able to divide the newly discovered land outside of Europe between Sapin, and Portugal. It was dicided that the land to the East wounld belong to Portugal and that the land to the West would belong to spain. -

This voyage didn't start to well because there was no wind and they weren't able to move forward. Although when the wind finally picked up the crew and Columbus discovered South America. -

Columbus's Forth and final voyage
As Columbus and his crew set out for their final voyag, they were able to explore the Caribbean and parts of Southern centeral America. On their way back they ran into a deadly hurrican, which damaged their ships and left them stranded on an island for about a year. -

Ferdinand Magellan Circumnavigates the world.
Ferdinand Magellan was the first person to ever circumnavigate the world which proved that the world was indeed round. It took him nearly three years and suprisingly he didn't get all the way around. He was unable to finish because of a illness that killed him but luckily he had a great crew that finished it for him.
